Loving Adults is the #1 foreign language movie on Netflix. Following a couple seemingly oblivious to the irony of fate, it topped the charts in no less than 55 countries in its first week, and is now on track to do even better.

In the center of events are Christian (Dar Salim) and Leonora (Sonia Richter). They have a son and apparently live a perfect life together. What’s more, the news came to their boyfriend that he had successfully overcome a long illness. In other words, the future looks brighter than ever.

But Leonora sees her husband at a party with a younger woman, an architect named Xenia. The film begins to look like a story as old as the world. Except that Leonora makes a decision at that very moment. A woman who sacrificed her career for love decides not to stay.

“To me, Loving Adults is a dark and complex yet sexy film about the terrible things men and women can do to others when pushed to the limit. It’s about the very thin line between love and hate – and how jealousy and bitterness can bring out the worst in us,” director Barbara Rothenborg wrote in a press release issued at the film’s premiere.

Loving Adults has similar reviews on major platforms: 64% on Rotten Tomatoes and 6.4/10 on IMDb.
