The American actor says he suffers from “face blindness,” a neurological condition that makes it difficult for him to remember people’s faces. The stars of the Fight Club, however, have not been officially diagnosed, writes news.ro.
Actor Brad Pitt revealed in a new interview with GQ that he suffers from “face blindness,” also known as prosopagnosia, a condition that affects his ability to remember people’s faces.
Although he has not been officially diagnosed, Brad Pitt, 58, says he believes he suffers from “mild blindness”.
“No one believes me! I want to meet another person (not the same disease),” said the actor.
Pitt said he wants to remember the people he meets and fears his struggles have given people the impression he’s withdrawn.
What is “face blindness”
According to the National Institutes of Health, prosopagnosia is a neurological disorder that makes it difficult for sufferers to recognize even family members or friends. Treatment involves developing other strategies for recognizing people, such as focusing on their voices.
Some studies show that the disease may affect 1 in 50 people to some degree.
Pitt also spoke about the condition in 2013, when he told Esquire magazine that it was the reason he spent so much time at home.
