
BMW will launch several electric models on a new technical architecture called the Neue Klasse, and one of them will be an SUV, which the company has now revealed details about, and will also launch a concept called the Vision Neue Klasse X. The production version will be produced in Hungary, where BMW invests a total of two billion euros.
BMW will launch six electric models on the new Neue Klasse platform, which should be very different from what exists in the electric market. This is the largest investment in the history of the brand and a long-term bet. The first models will enter the market at the end of 2025, and then will be produced in Western Europe, North America and China.

The company presented a sedan concept in the fall of 2023, and now it has shown an SUV concept, and both are electric.
The first electric derivative, developed on the basis of the new Neue Klasse architecture, will enter serial production at the plant in Debrecen (Hungary) in the second half of 2025.
The sedan will be built from 2026 at the plant in Munich, and cars based on the new architecture will be assembled in China (plant in Shenyang, also from 2026) and in Mexico, from 2027 (plant in San Luis Potos).
The SUV will be the successor to the electric iX3.
About the SUV concept presented now – Neue Klasse X – BMW says it has “innovative powertrain and chassis control: more dynamic performance, more precision, more efficiency.”
BMW says the electric motors have been improved and the lithium-ion batteries have new circular cells with a volumetric energy density that is more than 20 percent higher than the previously used prismatic cells.
“Combined with the switch to an 800-volt system, this will improve charging speeds by up to 30%, allowing cars to charge enough to drive 300 kilometers in just 10 minutes,” say BMW officials.
How BMW describes the exterior design:
“The new brand look for the BMW X models also contributes to the strong presence of the vision car. The vertically arranged LED units offer a new interpretation of BMW’s expressive light signature. Taking center stage is the BMW grille, reinterpreted as a three-dimensional sculpture with vertically aligned contours and illumination. Together, the headlights and grille create a lighting effect that is activated as the driver approaches the car and continues into the interior.
The rear part is strong and sporty. The taillights, which extend far to the center, offer a horizontal interpretation of the familiar BMW L-shape. Its 3D-printed elements are individually controlled with variable light intensity to convey a particularly expressive effect of depth.
Discreet glass surfaces and bright “Coral Silver” body color give the BMW Vision Neue Klasse X a touch of lightness. At the rear of the side windows, the brand’s characteristic Hofmeister curve is achieved not by chrome edges, but by a ‘reflective print’ that forms a transparent or reflective surface, depending on the viewing angle.’
The Germans say the brand’s cars will have four “supercomputers” that will control different aspects of the car’s functions.
