
BMW Group and NTT DATA Romania have signed an agreement to create a joint venture in Cluj, which is the first step to create a center for the development of IT solutions for business. The collaboration will begin with 120 software specialists, BMW said.
“The joint venture is expected to employ approximately 250 software developers by the end of 2024, with plans to increase the number of employees to several thousand by 2027,” BMW said.
The main focus will be on the development and implementation of IT solutions for the European region.
The center will develop IT projects and solutions for BMW, which will be used in production, development, human resources, sales and financial services.
The agreement on joint activities is subject to review and approval by the relevant authorities.
According to data from the Ministry of Finance, in 2022, the turnover of NTT DATA Romania was 471 million lei, and the average number of employees was 1,100.
The BMW Group and NTT DATA have been collaborating worldwide on a wide range of projects for more than 30 years. NTT DATA is a provider of services and software solutions. The headquarters of the group is located in Japan, and the number of employees worldwide is almost 200,000.
