​Dacia had better registration numbers in the EU in January than its “colleague” from the Renault group, according to ACEA data. Dacia has a market share of 5.8%, while Renault has 4.3%, but that will change within the year.

In January, 851,000 new cars of all brands were registered in EU countries, which is 11% more than in the first month of 2023.

Dacia had 49,000 registrations, followed by Renault at 37,000. The number one brand in Europe by volume was Volkswagen with 82,000 units, while Toyota had 70,700.

The ratio of Dacia vs. Renault is likely to change. Dacia also had more registrations in the first month of 2023, but for the whole of last year the total was 629,000 cars for Renault and 519,000 for Dacia.

In 2022, Dacia had 440,000 units, Renault – 541,000.
