Recall that at the launch of the Galaxy S24, Samsung talked a lot about these new generative artificial intelligence features, much of which was developed in collaboration with Google and can also be used offline. Some features allow instant translation, others automatically change images, and one of the most interesting features allows you to search Google by circling objects on the screen.

Samsung and Google Cloud have announced a new multi-year partnership to bring Google Cloud’s generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology to Samsung smartphone users.

Starting with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series announced on January 17 at Galaxy Unpacked in San Jose, California, Samsung will be the first Google Cloud partner to deploy Gemini Pro and Imagen 2 deep learning models on Vertex AI via the cloud on smartphone-like devices.

The announcement was made after several months of intensive testing of these technologies.

Samsung is the first Google Cloud partner to implement the Gemini Pro model on Vertex AI for users. Built from the ground up to be multimodal, Gemini can easily summarize and understand, operate on, and combine different types of information, including text, code, images, and video.

Starting with original Samsung apps, users can use the summarization feature in Notes, Voice Recorder, and Keyboard. According to Samsung, Gemini Pro on Vertex AI brings important features of Google Cloud to Samsung devices, including security, privacy and data compliance.

As part of this partnership, Samsung is one of the first customers to test Gemini Ultra, Google’s most powerful and flagship model for very demanding tasks. The S24 series will also use Gemini Nano, the LLM on the device that ships as part of the Android 14 operating system, the top-performing Gemini model.

Gemini is a multimodal artificial intelligence (AI) model developed by Google AI. It is a deep learning model that has been trained on a huge dataset of text, code and audio. It allows him to understand and create text, translate in different languages, write different types of creative content and answer questions informatively.

Gemini is significantly better than Google’s previous AI models. It can understand the nuances of human language and answer questions more comprehensively and informatively. It can also generate more creative text, such as poems, code, scripts, and musical compositions.

Gemini has a number of possible applications. It can be used to improve virtual assistants, create new forms of creative content, and develop new learning tools.
