As every year since 2005, the annual tax conference organized by EY Romania in Bucharest will be followed by editions in two other major regional business centers of Romania, Timisoara (Iulius Congress Hall, Tuesday 30 January) and , respectively, Cluj-Napoca (Radisson Blu hotel, Wednesday, January 31 of this year).
EY Romania specialists will talk in detail about the important aspects of the tax changes adopted last fall, which will apply from 2024, and will answer questions from representatives of the local and regional business environment. Digital reports that Romanian companies must implement from this year (SAF-T, e-invoice and e-transport), artificial intelligence in tax optimization, tax audits in the context of risk analysis, audits in the field of transfer pricing, changes in national and international taxation in the field of direct taxes – only some of the topics on the agenda of the two events. It will also outline new areas for public reporting, income tax reporting and related aspects at the end of the financial year, and how employers have adapted to the reporting requirements for tax-free benefits from 2023.
Corina Mindou, Partner, Income Tax and Social Contributions, EY Romania: “Taxation of the labor market in Romania in 2024 will be under double pressure: changes made to national legislation and European regulations in this field, some of which should apply from this year. In this context, it will be necessary to analyze the new provisions in detail for compliance and to avoid sanctions.”
No less important news in the field of VAT – legislative and thematic control measures, the new carbon tax CBAM at the level of the European Union, what it means and how it is applied, as well as details of a number of changes in international trade.
Costin Manta, Indirect Tax Partner, EY Romania: “We have at least three good reasons why the VAT section should become a priority for companies this year: the numerous and complex changes in the relevant legislation, the strengthening of ANAF control measures against the background of the goal of increasing the level of collection, in which add the transition to e-Invoice, summarized by July 1, and we have a picture of a difficult year from a fiscal point of view.”
