The law, which aims to introduce a moratorium under which farmers with bank loans affected by the drought can suspend payment of contributions for up to one year, was on the government’s agenda on Thursday and came after a final opinion from the Ministry of Justice.

At the same time, the provisions of this regulatory act will help debtors whose incomes have been directly or indirectly affected as a result of a serious situation caused by a natural disaster in agriculture caused by soil drought, i.e. debtors submit to creditors a protocol of ascertainment and assessment of losses, concluded in accordance with the order of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Minister of Internal Affairs no. 63.97.2020.
