Apple has ramped up mass production of its newest and most expensive device: the Vision Pro VR headset, which was unveiled in June. The launch should take place in February, and for this the company is freeing up space in its stores and training its sales staff, writes Bloomberg.
Apple was a latecomer to the VR headset market, years after companies like Facebook or Microsoft, but one of the reasons was that many of the technical issues had not been resolved. Vision Pro also does not solve everything, but after five years of work, it seems that a very good gadget has turned out.
This is the most difficult product launch in Apple’s history, mainly because of the high price. Vision Pro is the first new product category Apple has launched since the Watch debuted in 2015.
Apple is working hard to demarcate Vision Pro displays and testing areas in its stores, and employees are being trained to sell it. At least two employees from each Apple store worldwide will travel to California for training in January.
A key element will be how customers fit and adjust their device on their head. If it is set incorrectly, Vision Pro will not display content properly.
It not only increased production of the Vision Pro, but also the accessories, knowing that Apple makes a lot of money from these accessories, which are sold at high prices.
Apple hopes that people who buy Vision Pro will watch movies, chat with friends or use various entertainment programs in augmented and virtual reality. For example, users will be able to watch movies like Avatar, visit various locations virtually, and chat with friends or family via FaceTime.
It’s been compared to a computer on your face or to a huge, high-definition TV you’re looking at. Not surprisingly, Apple often used words like “revolutionary” or “awesome” as they do with each release.
