CFR Infrastructura announces the signing of two contracts for a total amount of 583 million lei excluding VAT for work on the replacement of track superstructure elements on two lots of the Bucharest-Pitesti railway line. Work continues on the other two lots. The trains will be able to develop a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

The distance between Bucharest and Pitesti by rail is 108 km, and on average the train takes 110 to 120 minutes. The fastest train takes 94 minutes, and the one with the longest stop takes 2 hours 36 minutes. There are 15 trains per direction on a working day, fewer on weekends.

CFR SA announces that the CF Bucharest regional office has signed today, December 19, 2023, contracts totaling 583 million lei excluding VAT for works to replace track superstructure elements on the CF Bucharest – Pitesti line, the last two lots in the renewal program that funded by the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR), for a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

The regional branch of CF Bucharest and the company Yapi Merkezi ve Sanayi AS (Turkey) signed on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, contracts for the performance of works for the replacement of elements of the track superstructure in a row on the line CF Bucharest – Pitești, the last two sections, with a total length of 196, 7 km related to this section:

Chitila – Ciocănești (line II) and Ciocănești – Titu (lines I and II), from km 10+600 to km 49+780 (current and direct lines from Săbăreni, Ciocănești and Ghergani stations).

Lot 2: Titu – Călinești – Golești (lines I and II), from km 49+980 to km 95+000 (current and direct lines from Fusea, Matăsaru, Găesti, Leordeni and Călinești stations).

Within the framework of two contracts, with a duration of 36 months each contract, renewal works will be carried out on 196.7 km CF, on the interval CF Chitila – Golești, by replacing the following components of the track superstructure in a row: rail-sleepers (196.7 km), 149 track devices, parts of track devices, transition cards, ordinary and special wooden sleepers (for track devices, bridges/decks), bridge/floor sleepers, metal decks embossed and non-embossed. for floors, fully equipped concrete sleepers, elastic slabs at 23 crossings, small material, crushed stone, including work on the construction of a track without beams.

Also, as part of the renewal program on the CF Bucharest – Pitesti line, work is already underway to replace the track superstructure on the section Kelineşti – Golesti – Pitesti (21 km), from km 95+000 to km 107+575, including lines 1a, 1b, 5 and 6 of the Golest railway station, a contract worth 82 million lei, excluding VAT, concluded in March 2023 between SRCF Craiova and the association Strabag – Metabet CF SA.
