On December 21st, Artmark’s Elegance and Christmas Gift Auction features fine timepieces that tell the perfect time in the illustrious world of watchmaking and collector cars: Christmas Auction – Elegance, Collector’s Watches and Cars, including a Rolex and Patek Philippe collection.
No fewer than 15 men’s Rolex watches are up for auction, ranging in price from €3,500 to €24,000. The most valuable Rolex at auction is the white gold Yachtmaster model, which can be worn by both men and women. The watch comes with its original box and warranty card and can be awarded from €24,000. The public can still get access to the same model, this time in rose gold, priced from €16,000.
The presence of the iconic Patek Philippe brand is confirmed by three examples, two of which are intended for gentlemen. This is a vintage 1890 rose gold Patek Philippe marriage. The watch has an original, perfectly preserved, brown leather strap with a classic clasp.
The same brand is also up for auction with a gold Calatrava replica from 2000, which starts at €13,000, almost double the niche market price.
Among the special and very rare auctions that lead the watch segment is a fine example of the Cabestan Tourbillon Vertical in pink gold for both men and women, which has a niche market price of €90,000. At the Artmark auction, the starting price is much more affordable – 50,000 euros.
Another rare limited edition piece is the Alain Silberstein ‘Bodoni’ watch. The limited series launched in 2005 produced only 500 examples. Alain Silberstein’s brand is known for its modern, extravagant and colorful watches inspired by the German Bauhaus movement. Copy number 220 at the auction has a starting price of 1,500 euros.
Exclusively for gentlemen, the auction also features a rare Quinting Mysterious Chronograph. Uncompromising Swiss quality, the Mysterious Chronograph is one of the most exceptional chronographs in the world and can be purchased from €3,500.
The auction features collector cars, including a 1979 Cartier Limited Edition Lincoln Continental Mark V with a historic car certificate. The rich equipment of the model includes special velor upholstery, wood trim, air conditioning, autopilot and a Cartier clock on the instrument panel. A true representative of classic American luxury, the car can be sold at auction from €15,000.
For Harley-Davidson enthusiasts, the auction features a 2006 Street Glide Custom, a special multi-color and partially gold-plated model.
The selection of cars is complemented by the Maserati Quattroporte of 1980 – one of the oldest series of Italian cars, which premiered in 1965. The offered model is part of the 3rd generation that was produced for a decade, marking the automotive world from the 80s. In original condition, very well preserved, in a rare color combination for this model and with the most powerful engine option.
Also up for auction is the Mercedes GD250 military vehicle – the most famous and valuable off-road vehicle in the world, in the most powerful military version. The 1990 example, fully restored, has a historic vehicle certificate and is available from €30,000.
Parts of the event are accompanied by documents of origin, a guarantee of authenticity or, depending on the circumstances, a guarantee of proper functioning. The impressive specimens can be seen and tested for free until December 21 at the exhibition in Palatul Cesianu-Racoviță, which is open from Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00.
