Romanian company Green WEEE, which deals with the treatment and recycling of DEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment), announces the opening of its third recycling plant, in the context of which more than 50 million tons of electrical waste are disposed of in the garbage, incinerated or illegally sold. The new factory, located in Buzau, is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and enables the recycling of more than 1,000,000 refrigerators annually with more than 98% recovery of materials.

These recycled materials are later reintegrated into the economy as secondary raw materials. Thanks to the new technological lines, the total recycling capacity of GreenWEEE reaches 140,000 tons per year, the company said in a statement.

According to GreenWEEE, the new plant “offers a comprehensive solution for the recycling of refrigerators and other household and industrial waste, with a particular focus on the recovery of hazardous substances, including oils, refrigerants and foaming agents.”

The new investment made in the Frasinu industrial platform in Buzău also includes the expansion of the production and logistics area by 35,000 m2, as well as the creation of a parking lot equipped with charging stations for electric cars and one for trucks. A modern office space was also created, which works efficiently and ecologically thanks to a modern system of air conditioning, heating and air filtration.

GreenWEEE collects and recycles all types of electrical or battery-powered waste. Waste comes from the local market, from authorized economic operators, electronics and home appliance retailers, sanitation companies, collectors, and through contracts with large manufacturers.

GreenWEEE announces that it is the market leader in Romania for the treatment and recycling of DEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment), batteries and automotive components. The company operates three plants, in Buzau and Campia-Turza, with a total processing capacity of 140,000 tons per year, with more than 350 employees and a total investment of 40 million euros.
