The game tells about the horrors of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine through the eyes of a 10-year-old girl, the Stellarium.gaming studio writes on Facebook.

The developers explained that the 2D game has a unique drawing style and tries to tell the tragedy of the Holodomor to a wide audience.

The action of the game unfolds in a “dead” village in the Kharkiv region. The main characters of the game are “two orphaned souls”.

“This is a story of hunger, despair, pain and hope, about the realities of the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-33 through the eyes of little Elena and her stork. These are two orphaned souls who went in search of life and a lost family,” the studio reported.

The player must help Elena and the stork find their family.

The developers say that users will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the perspective of the main character and see the circumstances of that time.

“Our goal is to show through the eyes of little Olenka the horror that the Ukrainian people experienced [diminutiv la Olena]. To highlight the criminal actions of the Soviet authorities,” the studio added.

The Famine Way game, available for computers and mobile phones, will be released in 2024.
