In October, global smartphone sales increased for the first time in 27 months, according to data from Counterpoint Research. The data refer to monthly sales compared to the same month last year (so-called year-on-year).
On average, 100 million smartphones of all brands are sold in the world every month. Samsung occupies 20% of the market, Apple – 16%, Xiaomi – 12%, Oppo – 10%, Vivo – 8%.
The number of smartphones sold at retail last month was 5% higher than in October 2022.
Growth was driven by the return of emerging markets: Huawei had good sales in China, the iPhone 15 was also launched, and the Indian market also performed well. There was also growth in the Middle East as well as African markets.
And in the future, a good development of the world market is expected.
