Mega Image, together with the Viitor Plus association, is planting 12,000 trees, one for each employee, on an area of 2.4 hectares in the south of the country. The new forest that will take root is part of the company’s strategy to promote a sustainable future for the environment and communities through actions with a positive long-term impact. The results already recorded in recent years have helped to reduce the carbon footprint, produce cleaner energy and benefit the lives of local communities.

Such an initiative is a response to the need to slow down the effects of climate change, such as rising temperatures, extreme weather events, reducing the rate of deforestation, often illegal, and carbon emissions. Urban agglomerations, construction sites, intensive transport lead to a radical increase in anthropogenic CO2 emissions. This means oxides that accumulate and contribute to the greenhouse effect. By planting saplings, areas with increased levels of biodiversity are created, and new trees can capture a very large amount of carbon dioxide.

12,000 saplings will be planted in the town of Crucea in the county of Constanta on land most in need of afforestation, improving soil quality, providing clean air and promoting biodiversity. In addition, the new forest will directly benefit the local community and increase agricultural productivity by up to 50% over time. Planting takes place during the period of vegetative rest and will last until the end of the year.

Following the strategic direction of sustainable development, Mega Image continued to develop actions around three main areas: reducing food waste, conserving resources along with reducing food waste and plastic, and reducing the impact on the environment and climate.

Sustainable development is part of the company’s business model, which aims to do good for the whole community. Environmental responsibility is a priority, and this action once again emphasizes the power that people have together: to create a cleaner, healthier environment and support the well-being of local communities. Mega Image is firmly committed to being an example of responsible and sustainable development with care for the environment, people and communities.

The landing was carried out thanks to the support of Mega Image employees, who decided to become volunteers of the internal program “12 good deeds”.
