
The number of consumers in Romania has doubled since the beginning of this year thanks to the large number of owners who have installed photovoltaic panels. A series of tax changes, the mismanagement of the Casa Verde Photovoltaic program, and a lack of investment in the national energy system are putting obstacles in the way of accelerated development of this important segment of renewable energy.
If you look at the evolution of the number of consumers over the last period and listen to the statements of politicians, you might think that Romania is not necessarily flowing with milk and honey, but at least with photovoltaic panels.

According to the latest data published by the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), at the end of summer 2023, there were 91,572 consumers in Romania with a total installed capacity of 1,155 MW.
