During the consultations with the social partners, it was agreed that, starting with the relevant rights in November 2023, the total minimum basic wage in the country, guaranteed in payment for the construction sector, is set at 4,582 lei per month for normal work schedules, and for the agricultural sector and food industry – 3436 lei per month.

  • “We protect the incomes and purchasing power of workers in construction, agriculture and the food industry. Together with social partners – trade unions and employers – we found a solution so that people working in these areas are not affected by the application of the new tax legislation,” said the Prime Minister.

The government will approve, in this sense, emergency resolution.

The representatives of trade unions and employers highly appreciated the fact that this measure, recognized as fair, was taken after consultation with the social partners.

The Prime Minister emphasized the Government’s readiness to continue consultations on this issue as well.

“As usual, the Government will carry out ongoing consultations on all important aspects related to the executive act, and the establishment of a guaranteed minimum gross wage for each economy when paid at the national level is part of our shared concerns,” said the chairman – stressed the executive.
