Rezvan Nicolescu, an energy expert and former president of the European Energy Regulatory Agency (ACER), believes that the storage of electricity in batteries will increase significantly in the coming years. “Energy companies will pay residential consumers a fee for the use of these batteries to regulate the operation of the system. The European regulatory framework will soon adapt to this situation,” said Nicolescu.
By 2035, at least 50% of houses in the EU will have their own energy storage, according to the energy expert.
In the US, batteries have already begun to be installed in homes
Rezvan Nicolescu also says that already in the US the company Green Mountin Power has started installing Tesla Powerwall batteries in every house.
“Europe will follow this trend. A huge economic stake will be where and by whom these batteries will be produced, along with all the other technologies used in the energy transition.
Currently, Romania is only producing words for the energy transition. Everything is imported,” Rezvan Nicolescu said.
