
Volkswagen is ending production of the Up!, the smallest model in the brand’s lineup, 12 years after the first car was released. The model also had an Up GTI variant, and since 2014 there is also an electric e-Up model on the market! The Polo remains the smallest model in the range, while a smaller electric model is due to hit the market in 2-3 years under the name ID1.
Volkswagen Up! were withdrawn from production, and the last cars were produced at the Bratislava plant. At first, a version with minimal features could be bought for 10-11,000 euros, but in recent years several thousand euros have been added.
The best sales year in Europe was 2013, when 130,000 units were sold. Originally there were 60 and 75 hp versions, but a 90 hp version was also added.
In Romania, Volkswagen Up! the price of used cars – depending on kilometers, characteristics, year of manufacture and general condition – from less than 4,000 euros to more than 9,000 euros.
From 2014 there was also an electric e-Up! model, and from 2018 until the end of 2022 there was also an Up! GTI.
Above! it has been produced since 2011, when it replaced another small model: the Volkswagen Fox.
