Between Bucharest and Pitesti is 108 km, the fastest trains take less than 100 minutes and the slowest take more than two hours. Delays happen quite often. The national railway company CFR SA announces that SRCF Bucharest has identified the winners of the public tender procedure for the works to replace the superstructure elements in the row on the line CF 101 Bucharest – Pitesti, an investment financed by the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR).

Under the two contracts, works will be carried out on a total length of 196.7 km CF, on CF CHITILA – GOLEȘTI, by replacing the following track superstructure components one by one: rails, track devices, parts for track devices, transition cards, ordinary and special trees sleepers (for track devices and bridges), bridge sleepers, pressed and non-pressed metal flooring for bridges, fully equipped concrete sleepers, elastic slabs for crossings, small material, crushed stone, including works for the realization of a track without joints.

The work on replacing the components of the upper structure of the track in the row on the KP 196.7 km is aimed at bringing the line into the design parameters, increasing the maximum speed of passenger trains to 120 km/h, eliminating costs caused by restrictions, increasing the efficiency of operational activities and maximizing safety.
