The decision of the ASF stated that the new company was allowed to carry out general insurance activities for the following risks and classes of insurance listed in section A — General insurance, from appendix no. 1 to Law No. 237/2015:

1. Risk class 10 — auto civil liabilityfor the use of mechanical land vehicles, except at the risk of the carrier;

  • Note: In class 10 insurance, there are 2 types of insurance: RCA (compulsory motor civil liability insurance) and CMR (carrier’s liability insurance for goods carried as carrier).

2. 1st class of risks — accidentsincluding accidents at work and occupational diseases:

  • a) fixed financial rewards;
  • b) variable financial reward;
  • c) a combination of compensations from letters a) and b);
  • d) compensation for bodily injuries caused to passengers;

3. Risk class 2 — health:

  • a) fixed financial rewards;
  • b) variable financial reward;
  • c) a combination of compensations from letters a) and b);

4. 3rd class of risks (not CASCO) – ground vehicles, with the exception of railway rolling stock, covering losses or damages related to:

  • a) motor vehicles;
  • b) other vehicles;

5. Class 8 risks — fires and natural disasterswhich covers damage or loss to goods, other than those specified in classes 3-7, caused by:

  • fire;
  • b) explosion;
  • c) storm and other natural disasters;
  • d) nuclear energy;
  • e) subsidence and landslides;

6. class 9 risks — other damages or losses related to other goods than mentioned in classes 3-7, caused by:

  • a) hail;
  • b) frost;
  • c) theft;
  • d) other events not covered by class 8;

7. risks from the 13th grade — general civil liability.

A new player in the RCA market: Easy Insurance, controlled by the Dragic family / Shareholders received more than 7 million euros

The Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) on Tuesday gave the go-ahead for a new player in the RCA market: Easy Insurance. The firm is part of the investment arm of D Craig Holding, which is controlled by Saša Dragić, the boss of Superbet, and his wife, Augusta Dragić.

According to HotNews.ro, Teodor Alexandrescu, former CEO of the former AIG Life (later Alico, now Metropolitan Life), was approved as president of the board of directors, and Dan Filip, former CFO of NN Romania, was appointed president of the board of directors. approved by the executive director., and later by N. N. Holland.

Upon request from HotNews.ro, the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) stated that the significant shareholder of Eazy Asigurări is D Craig Holding, which in turn has Saša Dragić and Augusta Dragić as significant shareholders.

  • “At today’s meeting, the Board of the Financial Supervision Authority (ASF) authorized Alexandrescu Teodor to the position of President of the Board of Directors of the aforementioned company.
  • Dan Philip was also authorized to the position of executive director and member of the administrative board.
  • Eazy Asigurări has received permission to practice the most important areas of general insurance, including CASCO, home insurance and health insurance. According to ASF in a press release, the Board of Directors also granted permission to practice RCA insurance.

After the revocation of the Euroins license on March 31, 2023, six insurers authorized by the ASF for RCA insurance activities were operating on the insurance market, respectively: Allianz-Ţiriac, Asirom VIG, Generali, Grawe, Groupama and Omniasig VIG.

In the RCA market in Romania, there are still two established branches: Axeria IARD and Hellas Direct.
