Why the government is gathering for the miners of Valea Jiului

The Ministry of Energy announced a few days ago that it is preparing two GDs through which 50 million lei will be allocated from the budget reserve fund available to the Prime Minister to finance the new company Complexul Energetic Valea Jiului SA and through which the Service of General Economic Interest regarding security mines and coal mining activities in the Jiului Valley.

For the provision of public interest services by Societatea Complexul Energetic Valea Jiului SA in the remaining months of 2023, fair compensation in the amount of 65,804,000 lei will be provided, which will be fully paid from the state budget through the budget of the Ministry of Energy. , to support costs of units in the process of closure, costs that are not related to current production.

Complexul Energetic Valea Jiului SA will receive the functional assets of Complexul Energetic Hunedoara SA in the next period. 2000 miners and staff of Complexul Energetic Hunedoara SA will be employed in the new complex.
