Finance Minister Marcel Bolosh, in a statement to Libertatea, admits that the fiscal reform measures discussed so far at the coalition level do not cover all the commitments of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Government sources told Libertatea that representatives of the European Commission are also insisting on faster implementation of the pension reform. Meanwhile, at the Romanian executive level, a new law on uniform pay is being discussed, a promise that has been made to several trade union confederations and which is an important milestone in the PNRR.

“Food for Romanians will mean that it will become 10% more expensive”

“The implementation of the PNRO with all components of the tax reform involves the introduction of progressive taxation and the reduction of VAT rates from three to one. Food for Romanians would mean that it would be 10% more expensive, which I don’t think can be discussed today,” said Marcel Bolosh for Libertatea.
