On Wednesday, several subscribers of Vodafone Romania’s fixed services received a notification that the monthly subscription price will increase by 1.2 euros (incl. VAT) 30 days after the notification. In addition, the contract on fixed services will be supplemented with a clause that provides for the annual indexation of prices to the level of inflation. Those who do not agree can terminate the contract unilaterally.
Here’s what some of Vodafone’s fixed line subscribers have been getting
Several subscribers of television, Internet and landline services of Vodafone Romania received SMS messages on Wednesday related to the update of 2 terms of the contract: the subscription price and the provision on price indexation.
- “Because we want to always offer you reliable services on quality terms, we will update 2 contractual terms of fixed services: the subscription price and the price indexation clause. Therefore, starting with an invoice issued 30 days after the date of this notice, the price of your subscription will increase by 1.2 EUR including VAT. Full information here https://myvdf.ro/3DKMjy6. Thank you for your understanding,” reads Vodafone’s message to customers.
This message was also reported by some customers on Vodafone’s Facebook page.
The increase in prices is caused by an increase in costs for rent, maintenance, fuel and equipment
Customers who follow the link in the notification will be able to access a document in which Vodafone explains the reasons for the price increase, noting that those who do not agree can terminate their contracts unilaterally.
“Due to rising costs associated with providing fixed services such as rent, maintenance, fuel, technological equipment, and because we want you to have the best experience, we are informing you of the following changes for which we must include in your service agreement:
- 1. Starting with the invoice issued 30 days after the date of this notice, the monthly price of your fixed line subscription will increase by 1.2 euros (including VAT) without changing the minimum contract period.
- 2. Since inflation is a significant factor in the pricing mechanism for all goods and services, the contract is supplemented by a clause on the annual indexation of the price of services.
Therefore, Art. 6 of Appendix 1 to your contract is supplemented by the following clause: 6.8 Given certain fluctuations in the prices of goods and services in the market, which may affect the contractual balance, in order to restore it, the parties agree that the tariffs for Vodafone services can be indexed annually by a simple notification sent by Vodafone together with the invoice, before applying indexation.
The indexation will be carried out according to the harmonized index of consumer prices (IAPC), according to the inflation rate established for Romania by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, but not exceeding the percentage of 8% per year. The parties agree that the annual indexation of tariffs to the level of inflation is not a unilateral change in the price of the contract, the possibility of indexation and its mechanism are agreed upon by the parties from the moment of concluding the contract.
The customer expressly declares that he has read, understood and accepts this clause.
The above changes will become effective with an invoice issued 30 days after the date of this notice.
If you do not agree with the above changes, you can unilaterally terminate the contract by sending a corresponding request in any of the Vodafone stores, by sending a letter to the customer relations department of Vodafone Romania, str. Barbu Văcărescu no. 201, Floor 4, Sector 2, Bucharest, Romania, Postal Code 020276, electronically by sending a request (by email to [email protected]) or by phone on 0372 022 222 or (for landlines only) by wording transfer requests within 30 days of receiving this information without paying any fines or compensation,” the company notes.
