CFR SA has launched a tender for the design and execution of signaling services on the HM Pajura – Mogoshoaya railway line, which will also include partial duplication of the line. The partial duplication works aim to increase train capacity between the North Station and the airport.

The presence of sections of one line between the North Station and the airport complicates the running of trains.

There are 36 trains per day between Gara de Nord and Henri Coanda airport in each direction, frequency – 40 minutes, ticket price – 5 lei. Trains take 21 minutes on the 20 km journey to the airport, and 25 minutes on the return journey. Trains stop at Parc Mogoșoaia and Patinoar PO.

What CFR SA says

The estimated total value of the contract is 6,465,956.96 lei without VAT, with financing from the state budget, and the contractual term for the development of the technical project and the execution of signaling works is seven months, CFR SA reports.

The main objective of the signaling works and the partial doubling of the railway line on the connection Hm Pajura – Mogoșoaia is to increase the capacity of trains between the North Station – the Airport (and back), by introducing a new diagonal CF (double-track devices) on the section km 8+800 – 8+ 900 and signaling works on lines CF 301K (Post Giulești – Mogoșoaia) and line 700 (Pajura – Mogoșoaia).

The main signaling works to be performed under this contract are: introduction of 6 track circles on the CF 301K line and line 700, 4 signal supports (km 8+651, km 8+451, 9+084, km 10+). 636), two electromechanisms, installation of heaters on track devices, creation of an electrical network for newly introduced equipment on the track (signaling cables, signaling cables, block cabinets, adaptation of extensions to the new configuration), installation of cabinets for signaling equipment, moving work, modification , respectively, the derailment of the old CF units and the reconfiguration of the units at the Mogoshoaya station.

The deadline for receiving proposals is August 16, 2023, and their opening will take place on the same day at 3:00 p.m.
