ANAF is selling a plane that belonged to businessman Ovidio Tender, who was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison in 2015, later released from prison in 2019.

This is a McDonnell Douglas type DC9-82 (MD 82) aircraft. The tax office hopes to sell it for 249,725 lei.

The auction will take place on August 9 in Bucharest. Note that this is the second auction, the price of which is half.

In June 2015, Ovidiu Tender was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison in the Carambola case, in which businessman Marian Yancu was also sentenced to 14 years in prison. The two were accused of fraud and money laundering, the decision was made by the Bucharest Court of Appeal.

In December 2014, a Bucharest court sentenced Ovidiu Tender to 11 years and four months in prison and Marian Janca to 13 years and eight months in prison in the Carambole case. The decision was appealed.

In this case, Ovidiu Tender and Marian Yanku were sent to court in 2006, the indictment was drawn up by the former head of DIICOT, Alina Bika.

Tender and Jancu were accused of illegally seizing control of Carom SA Oneşti and allegedly damaging it by 1,400 billion old lei, at the level of 2003.

Until 1990, Carom SA was part of Oneşti Petrochemical Platform. Two businessmen are accused of draining Carom’s resources through a complex financial scheme.
