
There is no mini-holiday for Romanians in July, as there are no public holidays in this month. Instead, in August there will be a legal day off and a bridge holiday for state employees, so many Romanians will again have a mini-vacation.
August 15, which falls on a Tuesday, is a public holiday (Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary), so it is a day off for all Romanians. For state employees, Monday, August 14, was declared a holiday to make a “bridge” with the weekend.
At the end of last year, the government decided that January 23, June 2 and August 14, 2023 will be days off for public sector employees, given that they fall on public holidays, on which, according to the Labor Code, no work is carried out. and days of weekly rest.
What weekend 2023 – public holidays, when it is closed
In 2023, 15 holidays are set: three days off and 12 days off. To them are added three days off for state employees in 2023, namely January 23, June 2, and August 14.
