
Regina Maria Healthcare Network has signed the largest deal of the year in the healthcare market, acquiring a majority stake in Dr. Leahu Dental Clinics, the leader of the dentistry market, represented in 13 cities of the country, with 169 offices, 19 clinics in the city, says the company’s announcement.
Following the deal, Dr Jonuts Leahu retains a 49% stake, while private equity fund Morphosis Capital exits the dental services provider, according to the source cited.
With investments of more than 200 million euros in recent years, Regina Maria enters the niche of dental services and begins a new phase of business growth.
“We have been following the dynamics of the dental market for many years, and now is a good moment to take this first step, which also marks our opening to consolidate this industry in Romania. Dentistry is a market with very good growth potential,” said Fadi Chreich, CEO of Regina Maria.
The chain of dental clinics, founded and led by Dr. Jonutz Leahu for more than a decade, recorded revenues of more than 26 million euros (132 million lei) in 2022, which is 31% more than the previous year.
Dental clinic Dr. Leahu unites a team of 500 employees, of which 200 are doctors and specialists in general anesthesia. Each clinic unites at least one digital dental radiology center. The network also has its own training center for medical specialists, residents and paramedics. More than 5,000 patients cross the threshold of dental clinics every month.

Following the transaction, Dr. Leahu Dental Clinic will operate as an independent unit within the Regina Maria Healthcare Network, with CEO and founder Dr. Jonutz Leahu retaining leadership responsibilities, according to a press release. Morphosis Capital will no longer be part of the shares of the dental company.
