The opening of mandatory financial proposals for 67% of the Port Authority of Heraklion was scheduled for tomorrow Thursday, but this is no longer expected, since both applicants asked to study the legalization documents of their competitor. The deadline they’ve been given expires early next week, so it’s likely that the financial proposals will be revealed at the board meeting next Thursday. However, in any event, the Fund will solicit improved bids from both bidders, regardless of the difference between the prices to be bid, as permitted by the relevant notice.
Thus, the competition develops into a close fight between the Italian group Grimaldi, on the one hand, and the joint venture GEK TERNA with Aviareps, the interests of businessman Yiannis Grilos, on the other. These two circuits are the only ones of the eight that have qualified for the final round. The fund will have at its disposal to assess the proposed amounts of the assessment of two independent consulting firms. However, the completion of the transaction, when the winner of the tender is announced, will take even longer, since the submission of the contract to the Accounts Chamber and the approval of the concession by Parliament are required. The turnover of the Heraklion Port Authority in 2022 increased by 37.42% to 7.78 million compared to 5.66 million in fiscal 2021, exceeding the corresponding figures for 2019 by 18.52%. Pre-tax results for 2022 fiscal year amounted to 3.77 million, i.e. improved by 2 million (+114.75%).
