After a proposal to raise teachers’ salaries, Prime Minister Chuke announced that an agreement had been reached to replace the heads of institutions responsible for collecting money for the national budget, appointing ANAF, customs and big tax payers. Government sources said on Wednesday that PSD-backed Big Tax Payers chief Jonuts Mišu would be replaced by transfer order.
- “In this context (in the proposal for teachers’ salaries), we agreed that at the level of structures in the Ministry of Finance, which are responsible for collecting funds for the state budget, a number of replacements should be carried out at the level of teachers. management of institutions, and here I mean ANAF, customs and large tax payers.”, Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke said on Wednesday, at the beginning of the Government meeting.
Ahead of the cabinet meeting, official sources said on Wednesday that the head of the Main Directorate for the Administration of Large Taxpayers, Ionuc Misha, who is supported by the PSD, will be suspended from leading the institution.
- “Ionuts Misha will also fail, according to the transfer order”, government sources said on Wednesday.
Ionuts Misha is a civil servant and so far he has not made any statement regarding his resignation.
Lucian Geiusch resigned from the leadership of ANAF on Monday, after the institution was recently criticized for a budget “hole” and that it would not have good results in the meeting.
In his resignation letter, Lucian Hayush also presented a table of the Treasury’s estimates when he made the budget (which I kept pointing out was misspelled) and how much was actually raised.
According to the presented data, compared to the estimates made in the budget for 2023, after 5 months there is a minus of 8.9 billion lei.
In the details, you can see something else, which is that the PSD side of ANAF is going wrong, that is, the Directorate General for the Administration of Large Taxpayers, headed by Ionuc Misha (former head of the institution), supported by the Social Democracy there. The deficit is 8.4 billion lei.
Following the resignation of the ANAF chairman, Nicoleta Circiumaru, who is currently the vice president, has been appointed interim president of ANAF, the Ministry of Finance said.
