Businessmen demand reforms and a stable government

Form a government as soon as possible reforms No surprises, the business world is asking ahead of the second national election, which is expected to take place on June 25th.

“In the May 21 elections, the demand of citizens for political stability and an independent government is clearly expressed. The message from the ballot box was clear, even if the electoral system requires a repeat election. Therefore, we expect the procedures to be continued as soon as possible so that the country gets a government with a strong parliamentary majority and a four-year perspective. A government that will take advantage of the citizens’ mandate to continue with even greater courage and efficiency the reforms the country needs in order to run even faster on the path of development,” said Sofia Kunenaki-Ephraimoglou, President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Don’t waste time. The priority is to address the serious problems that the economy is suffering from.

“The people decided and with their vote gave a great victory to the ruling party. This development causes significant changes in the entire political scene, as well as in party affiliation. What does not change, however, is the country’s need to move forward, with the necessary reforms and SMEs as the main actors. Judging by the general outcome of the pre-election struggle, I believe that the formation of the government will not take long. It is expected that we will go to re-elections with faster procedures, which I see only positively. Because there is no time to waste on solving serious problems of the economy and the market, and I think everyone understood this. Therefore, the formation of a stable government is an urgent priority to solve the serious problems of the time, which the people of the market have pointed out as a necessity since the beginning of the pre-election period,” argued the president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, Ioannis Hatziteodosiou.

“The market has voted for another four-year political stability and continued economic development,” said Vassilis Korkidis, president of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “Even during the second vote, the message of society and the business community is clear: bold reforms are needed with stable and serious management without surprises so that long-term planning can be carried out,” said the president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce. , Stavros Kafounis.
