“Save – Renew for Youth”: Platform opens today – Beneficiaries and Conditions

Online platform opens today (https://exoikonomoneon.gov.gr) from Program “Save – Renew for Youth” to subsidize the renovation and energy upgrades of homes owned by young people aged 18 to 39 and will run until Friday, September 15, 2023.

Program, total budget 300 million eurosthis is expected to enable 20,000 young people to renew their energy and renovate their homes.

“Save – Renew for Youth” is divided into two sub-sections:

  • “Save”, with a budget of 200 million euros, of which 40 million euros is allocated to exceptionally vulnerable households, covers energy saving measures such as window replacement, thermal insulation, heating-cooling systems, hot water systems and smart home. .
  • Renovate, which has a budget of 100 million euros, includes renovations such as refurbishing bathrooms and kitchens, replacing the front door, replacing and repairing electrical and plumbing fixtures, and floors.

The main condition for inclusion in the “Renovation” subsection is the mandatory inclusion first in the “Save” subsection.

The aim of the program is primary energy savings of at least 30% and upgrading the energy category based on the Energy Efficiency Certificate by at least three energy classes compared to the existing classification.

Beneficiaries and conditions

Eligible to participate in the program all young people born between 01/01/1984 and 12/31/2005with a family income of up to 50,000 euros for their inclusion in “Excoionamo” and up to 20,000 euros for their inclusion in “Renovate”.

The beneficiaries must be property owners.

They must also have property rights full ownership / usufruct at least 50% to join “Renovation” (small ownership excluded).

They are not eligible to apply at Save – Renew for Youth residences with an active application in one of the Energy Modernization Programs: EcoEconomy Cat Oikon II, Ecoconomi – Autonomou, and Ecoconomi 2021.

Housing, to be considered acceptable, must be a separate house or apartment and must:

  • It exists legally.
  • It was not deemed to be demolished.
  • It is used as the main residence.
  • Must be categorized as an energy class less than or equal to C based on an Energy Efficiency Approval (PEA).

The program covers eligible costs of up to €32,500 for energy efficiency improvements and home renovations. Specifically, subsections:

1. Excoionamo eligible budget: up to EUR 22,500 The program covers between 45% and 90% of eligible energy interventions and the remaining amount can be covered by an interest-free loan.

2. Acceptable budget for “Repair”: up to 10,000 euros. Up to 30% of the amount of the relevant repairs is covered, and the remaining amount can be covered by a low interest loan up to 7,000 euros.

Evaluation criteria include the cost of energy conservation measures, income, age of construction, whether the family is a single mother, has many children, or has a disabled member, etc.
