DYPA: Unemployed payouts for digital and green skills top 54,000

Over 54,000 unemployed who have completed study programs of their choice and are certified in digital and green skills, have already received an education allowance of up to 1,000 eurosThis is stated in the message of the State Employment Service (DYPA).

In total, from the beginning of April to the present day, 54,658 unemployed people have been paid 53,996,277 euros. In addition, DYPA informs training providers that their payments will begin on Monday, May 15, 2023.

Priority will be given to those who consistently submit the required supporting documents and information. The acquisition and skills development program for the unemployed is being implemented as part of the Greece 2.0 National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The aim of the action is to qualitatively increase the level of knowledge and skills of the unemployed through programs of continuous vocational training that meet the needs of the economy, with the aim of increasing their employability and faster reintegration into work.

Trainees attend a training program and, upon completion, take part in certification exams. Each beneficiary who has received a certificate is entitled to receive an allowance of 5 euros per hour of training. Well, for a program of 200 hours it reaches 1000 euros.

It is noted that the project is funded through the European Union’s NextGenerationEU and specific actions are required, as well as on-site administrative checks and spot checks to ensure that trainees and training and certification service providers are paid.

At the same time, the announcement clarifies that some delays are often associated with the failure to place all the necessary documents by training and certification providers. In order to protect beneficiaries from such practices, DYPA recalls that it has recently introduced a strict penalty framework for those suppliers who are late.
