
The countries to which Romania exports the most are Germany, Italy and Hungary, according to statistics for 2022. We import a lot from Hungary and Bulgaria, and have the largest trade deficit with China. If we consider the counties, the capital accounts for a third of imports, followed by Ilfov, Timis, Arjes and Prahova.

EU analysis shows that the number of jobs directly or indirectly supported by European exports is increasing. They grew from 21.7 million in 2000 to 36 million. Each billion euro of EU exports provides an average of 13,000 jobs.
The share of highly skilled workers in total export-related jobs is increasing, and export-related jobs are on average 12% higher than other jobs.
