The specialties for which companies report difficulties in recruiting are mainly engineering (16.7%), financial (13.9%) and technical (11.1%) industries, as well as information technology (9.6%) . In addition, 63.5% of businesses said it was difficult to find highly skilled technical workers, 40.9% reported a severe shortage of staff with the digital skills they needed, 53.5% of businesses identified a severe shortage of staff with relevant skills, and 6 out of 10 enterprises believe that higher education does not provide graduates with knowledge and skills that would facilitate their entry into the labor market.

The health crisis of the past years affected the work of the personnel of 62.9% of enterprises. Of these, more than half (54%) said they would maintain changes to the way their employees work, with teleworking at 79.6% and shift work at 24.1%.

The survey was conducted in March on a sample of 795 people, business representatives – members of EBEA.
