With credit and debit cards issued by banks foreigners will be able to pay their tax obligations at the end of 2023.

For example, Greek residents abroad who are required to pay inheritance tax and do not have a Greek card will be able to pay within a short period of time or through Taxisnet tax relating to them, or by physical presence at the tax office through POS. Also, for a yacht that is “moored” in a Greek port, its owner or lessee will be able to pay port dues with their card. Until today, the amount was blocked on the card and after a long time the fees were paid to the state. Now this will be done directly through the POS.

This measure will facilitate the tax transactions of thousands of citizens, as data show that every year foreigners who pay taxes in Greece carry out a total of more than 150,000 transactions with the tax office.

Current AADE tender. This measure will facilitate the transactions of foreigners as well as Greeks living abroad.

Applicants must present cards with signs of international card organizations VISA and Mastercard. If desired, they will service cards marked by international organizations Dinners, American Express and China Union Pay, for which the fee of mandatory cards will apply.

The Contractor may route transactions with or without the physical presence of a foreign payment card through the above EFT/POS network and DIAS e-POS system, respectively.

Alternatively, in the event that the contractor does not wish to route transactions through the existing EFT/POS AADE network and non-physical card presence (e-POS) transactions through the current routing for internal cards, he undertakes to install, connect and configure an equal number of EFT/POS at points where existing terminals are installed, while providing the ability to perform transactions without the physical presence of the card (e-POS) in myAADE and e-parabolo.
