
In January and February 2023, Romania exported goods worth 15 billion euros and imported 19.4 billion euros, according to data sent on Monday by Statistics. The trade deficit was 4.38 billion euros, about 220 million euros less than in the first two months of 2022.
In February 2023, exports amounted to 7.8 billion euros, and imports – 9.9 billion euros, INS data also show. Compared to February 2022, exports in February 2023 increased by 11.8%, imports – by 4.2%.
In the first two months of the current year, exports increased by 9.0%, and imports by 5.4%.
In the period 1.I-28.II of 2023, significant weight in the structure of export and import is occupied by product groups: machines and transport equipment (44.2% of export and 35.7% of import) and other industrial goods (30.0% for export and 28.3% on imports).
