Approved State Council draft presidential decree on his investment of 200 million euros Regency Entertainment. Investments relate to the development of an integrated entertainment and hotel complex with casino in Marousi and in particular the area on the descent from Kifisia opposite the Golden Hall shopping center. The draft presidential decree was published yesterday in the Government Gazette and represents a decisive step in the process of relocating the Mon Parnes casino from Parnita to the Athens suburbs and returning the former complex to the state.
The process began 15 years ago and was institutionalized by two laws, in November 2017 and March 2021. According to the published presidential decree, the remuneration for the relocation of Mont-Parne to a new location is set at 30 million euros, while the first part must correspond to 50% of the compensation and must be paid without fail within one hundred and eighty days from the date of entry into force of the decision. The remainder will be paid in five annual equal installments.
A draft presidential decree on the introduction of a regency on Kifisias Avenue has been approved.
The investment plan provides for the creation of a modern, “green”, low-rise entertainment and hospitality center, which will be surrounded by green spaces and open spaces for public use. The complex will include a luxury hotel, cultural and conference venues, restaurants and entertainment, a casino and large underground parking spaces. At the same time, Regency Entertainment is committing to implement additional road projects with its own funding to relieve the area from the traffic load that already burdens it and would otherwise increase even more with the new complex.
In addition, out of the 55 acres of development land, a total of 25 acres are planned to be modified and handed over to the municipality of Amarousi upon completion of the project. This area includes a total of 15 acres of green space and common areas, as well as 10 acres of roads and sidewalks leading to and from the Olympic Stadium facilities and surrounding areas. It is expected that these areas and infrastructure will henceforth be freely accessible to the general public. The creation of an “entertainment and hospitality pole” in Marousi, as Regency Entertainment characterizes the complex, is the first investment of such intensity and scale in the northern suburbs in years. At the same time, Regency Entertainment, as the operator of the investment, has committed itself to proceed with the complete regeneration of the natural landscape in the Mavrovouni area of Parnit while it will install a modern cable. car park and car park with 1,000 spaces to the Greek State for use by residents of Attica who visit the national park.
