
Meta Group has launched a new round of layoffs, and it will affect 10,000 employees in addition to the 11,000 the company announced in November 2022. Mark Zuckerberg said that 2023 should be the “year of efficiency”.
As of the end of 2022, Meta had 86,000 employees.
Facebook is hiring, expanding its workforce by 27,000 in 2020 and 2021 and by 15,000 in the first nine months of 2022. The first round of mass layoffs began in 2022, and another is now underway, which will continue in the coming months.
This will affect departments such as recruiting, technology and business. Some projects will be cancelled.
