
In an appeal sent to the Senate regarding the position on the legislative project aimed at increasing financial accessibility, the BNR states that it wants to take over the responsibilities of the ANPC to protect consumers of banking products and services, writes Conso.ro.
It is about the legislative initiative B667/2022 to amend some regulations (it is about the law 258/2017 on costs related to payment accounts) with the aim of increasing financial accessibility.
The legislative project, on which the Senate invited the opinion of the NBR and the ANPC, is aimed at transferring to the NBR the powers of the ANPC to apply and enforce the provisions of Law 258, limit cash receipts by government institutions from January 2026 and promote the use of modern means of payment.
