
The German company AE Solar will open a factory for the production of solar panels in Romania, with a total investment of one billion euros, the government announced on Monday after a meeting of the company’s representatives with Prime Minister Čucé.
Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke met on Monday in the Victoria Palace with representatives of the AE SOLAR company and the network of Black Sea universities, during which the German company announced the investments it intends to make in Romania.
- “At the initial stage, this larger project will have a capacity of 2 GW, and after the completion of the full integration of the production flows in Romania, it will reach 10 GW, which is a third of the European needs. The company’s representatives confirmed that they will put it into operation first this year,” the message reads.
At the level of the Government, resources that can be obtained at the expense of European funding or from the state budget will be analyzed in order to support the implementation of the project, according to the message of the Executive Power.
- “This investment will put Romania at the center of European solar panel production, making a significant contribution not only to energy independence, but also to environmental protection by using renewable, clean energy to generate electricity,” said Prime Minister Nicolae Cuke. .
Regarding ways to support the development of the applicability of a large-scale investment, experts from the Black Sea University Network will be involved, who will be able to cooperate through a science park that complements the production facilities.
