Who is the creator of the ChatGPT application?

Artificial intelligence is the way of communication and work of the future. OpenAl, led by Sam Altman, is a pioneer. By AI (artificial intelligence), we mean the ability of a computer system to mimic human cognitive functions, i.e., learn and solve problems – something that can cause admiration, awe, great anxiety and fear, but should not have caused complacency. And one of the companies that has been driving people crazy lately is OpenAl, which released the ChatGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) app in November 2022. This particular AI app allows for dialogue, answers, and writes texts relatively quickly, while it has been tested to compose even…poems. OpenAl is led by 37-year-old Sam Altman. His company recently partnered with Microsoft, which is investing millions in artificial intelligence, and the latest competitor to enter the arena is YouTube, formerly Google.

When he announced his partnership with Microsoft two weeks ago, it was perhaps the biggest news of his career: “OpenAI and Microsoft have been working together for over three years. Together with our partner, we have created a secure artificial intelligence that will have a positive impact on society,” he said. In the future, the Microsoft Bing search engine will be powered by artificial intelligence, which is also the basis of the ChatGPT chatbot. But who is Sam Altman? He is from St. Louis, Missouri. He started programming and disassembling computers at just 8 years old. At the age of 16, he admitted that he was gay, which was not easy and therefore he often resorted to virtual chats. He studied computer science at the prestigious Stanford University but dropped out. In 2014, Sam Altman became president of Y-Combinator, a near-legendary Silicon Valley company. In 2015, he co-founded OpenAI with Elon Musk, a company he says wants to research and develop artificial intelligence as a not-for-profit company. He also states that he wants to protect the public from the dangers that artificial intelligence may pose in the future and ensure that as many people as possible have access to it.

“Every technological revolution destroys jobs and creates new ones. I believe that in ten years we will have chatbots working for an expert in any field you want. For example, I can make an animated film. Artificial intelligence will solve repetitive tasks and partly engage in creativity. A lot will change!” Altman notes. That a lot will change is the only thing that can be said for sure. The question is in which direction.
