This scenario did not materialize, and a mild winter also contributed to lower demand, making additional loads unnecessary.

In the context of the terms of the contract, DEPA Emporias can cancel them within a certain period of time prior to their delivery at the cost of a “fine”, which is set at 5 million euros per load, which means 50 million euros for a total of ten shipments of LNG.

The multi-legislative act of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was submitted to Parliament the day before yesterday, includes a special provision for compensation by DEPA Emporia, which stipulates that this will be done by the Administrator of Renewable Energy and Guarantees of Origin (DAPEEP). through the Energy Transition Fund. Amounts payable are approved by decision of the Minister of the Environment and Energy after confirmation by the supplier of the unnecessary supply in accordance with the regulation on the basis of the relevant documents to be submitted to DAPEEP. Compensation is paid within two months from the date of sending the relevant documents to the administrator.
