Company Twitter Inc.. laid off at least 200 workers, or about 10 percent of its current workforce, The New York Times reported late Sunday, embarking on yet another round of job cuts after the billionaire businessman bought him. Elon Musk in October 2022.
The layoffs, which took place on Saturday evening, included project managers, data analysts and engineers responsible for machine learning and service reliability, the newspaper said, citing people familiar with the matter.
The company did not immediately respond when Reuters attempted to contact it for comment.
Musk said Twitter had about 2,300 employees last month.
The new layoffs follow an initial wave of massive job cuts at the company that reached 3,700 as Mr Musk, who bought the social network for $44 billion last year, moved to slash operating costs.
Elon Musk said in November that Twitter was facing a “big drop in revenue” as advertisers cut spending over concerns about a lack of control over content.
Twitter recently began sharing ad revenue with some content creators on the platform.
