Every advanced economy has innovation at the center of its productive capabilities, as innovation fuels growth, extroversion, and growth, and contributes significantly to improving a country’s trade balance. The presence of a sufficient number of specialized human resources is one of the most important conditions for increasing innovation and high technology.

According to the BSE’s annual Business Pulse survey, companies in 2022 will also face difficulties in meeting the need for human capital with knowledge and skills. Especially for companies with growth prospects, the lack of competent management capacity is one of the most important obstacles to development (according to the survey, it ranks fourth after taxation, energy, geopolitical events, corruption and the macroeconomic situation in the country). a country).

During the economic crisis, about 500,000 Greeks left the country, young and capable people, and almost 70% of them had higher education. We often refer to them as “brain drain”, but the experience, knowledge and skills they have acquired abroad can potentially become an important resource for the productive transformation and competitiveness of the Greek economy.

With this in mind, the BSE Innovation Committee launched the Innovative Greeks initiative in 2020 to bring inventive Greeks from all over the world into one community and connect them to Greece’s fast-growing innovation ecosystem.

Since then, Greece’s production model has gradually changed. Our country is now more favorable for investment and entrepreneurship, has managed to create an innovation ecosystem with a capitalization of more than $7 billion, has attracted significant foreign investment in technology, and our exports have almost doubled.

Greece has managed to create an innovation ecosystem, the capitalization of which exceeds 7 billion euros.

At this positive moment, having people with the right skills and talents to support technological development and the transition to green technologies is more important than ever. Precisely to help meet human capital needs, the BSE Innovation Committee has developed and implemented a new digital platform in strategic partnership with Workable. [email protected]connecting highly qualified and experienced people with technology industries and enterprises.

[email protected] This is a very handy tool for both candidates and recruiting companies. Workable’s technology detects and automatically delivers to the platform the advertisements that its members place on the Internet. [email protected] in its full development, it will host all open highly qualified jobs of organized and extroverted entrepreneurship, industrial and manufacturing activities represented by the BSE, as well as high-tech and innovative companies that are members of the Elevate Greece National Register of Young Enterprises. It is estimated that more than 1,000 companies will join the platform, and to date, about 100 have already joined.

At the same time, at SEV, we are launching a campaign to attract scientists who left in the previous decade, as well as all resourceful Greeks from the diaspora who are looking for job opportunities to return to Greece on good terms. We hope that with the initiative [email protected] we will contribute to the expansion of the reserve of highly qualified personnel in our country.
