Application platform for shopping cardThis was stated by government spokesman Yannis Oikonomou.
As G. Oikonomou noted during the political editors’ briefing, the beneficiaries are approximately 85% of Greek households, and the assistance is 10% of the purchases of all types of goods in food retail stores. Also from Wednesday, the “home basket” is replenished with new products and the “Lenten basket” comes into force.
At the same time, within one month, supermarket chains are required to change price tags so that the price per unit, liter or kilogram is written in large letters, so that there is no confusion and, all the more so, consumer deception in relation to possible changes in packaging. G.Economu also stressed that control is being strengthened, and if violations are detected, fines are imposed.
