
The range of chips has been withdrawn from sale in Mega Image stores due to the high content of acrylamide, a harmful substance, according to News.ro. People who have purchased the product are advised not to use it.
According to the National Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA), Mega Image has withdrawn the product from sale. Chips Terra Stripe&Blues 110 gramslot: 228 A3, expiration date: 03/29/2023.
“Withdrawal of the product from the market and its recall from consumers was initiated at the request of the supplier, because a high content of acrylamide was detected. All seized products are subject to destruction,” the quoted source said.
Consumers should not consume this product by asking it to be destroyed or returned to the store where they purchased it with a tax receipt by March 17.
Acrylamide is an oxidizing substance that is formed as a result of the breakdown of starch, usually after a frying process at high temperatures.
