Consultations between the competent authorities and the Ministry of Labor on its formation continue new minimum wage.
As his report shows SKYaccording to the proposals of the departments involved, the minimum wage is supposed to be formed at the expense of 753 euros to 826 eurosand its effective date will be 1 April.
It is noted that the proposals of departments will be considered and evaluated by the Ministry of Labor.
The SKAI report lists the amounts proposed by each body involved, as well as the conditions they set in order for the final decision to increase to be functional.
Especially:
- GSEE proposes to increase the minimum wage to 826 euros.
- The Bank of Greece notes that there is no problem with the increase below the inflation rate, which means that the minimum wage rises to 780 euros.
- KEPE proposes that the minimum wage should be between 760 and 780 euros. The KEPE proposal is more important as it is the body that will collect all the proposals and make the final recommendation to the ministry. He also notes that salaries over 780 euros are deprived of a non-taxable allowance, which means a loss of total income.
- GSEVEE offers an 8-10% increase, with a minimum wage of between €770 and €784.
- ESEE is offering a 7% increase, with the minimum wage set at €763.
- SETE proposes to increase the minimum to 753 euros.
Employers (GSEVEE, ESEE, SETE) agree to an increase in the minimum wage but demand further cuts in insurance costs and tax cuts, suggesting the abolition of sham pay.
The above proposals will be collected by KEPE, who will present their final proposal to the Minister of Labour.
Then, mister Kostis Hatzidakis will evaluate the proposals in cooperation with the Prime Minister and relevant ministers and submit its recommendation to the cabinet on 10 March.
The government’s decision on the minimum wage will be implemented from 1 April.
