
The Commission for National Strategy and Forecasting (CNSP) forecasts economic growth of 2.8% this year to 2023, as expected in November, but with a higher nominal GDP of 1,599 billion lei. Previously, it was estimated at 1.552 billion lei.
As for inflation, 8% and an annual average of 10.8% are forecast for the end of the year (in November, the forecast was 9.6%).
The expected average exchange rate is 4.94 lei/euro (previously 4.98 lei/euro).
The average net salary increase is forecast at 4,283 lei per month (previously it was 4,235 lei). An important role is also played here by raising the salaries of state employees.

According to the CNSP report, for the current year, as well as in the medium-term perspective, previous estimates for the growth of the economy have been maintained, its pace is further supported by the significant contribution of the construction sector, which is determined by the more effective attraction and use
European funds.
“From the point of view of social indicators, the review of wage dynamics in 2023 (+1.2 percentage points), which is determined by the growth of the minimum wage in construction and the increase of wages in the budget sector in accordance with the legislation in force, attracts attention” — says the institution.
