
Household deposits fell by 409 million euros in November, compared with an increase of 121 million euros in the previous month, according to yesterday’s data from the Bank of Greece. At the same time, corporate deposits also decreased by 182 million euros.
At the same time, however, business grants have increased.
Specifically, according to a statement from the central bank, the following changes occurred in bank financing and deposits in November:
• The annual rate of change in total funding for the domestic economy was 5.9% compared to 6.2% in the previous month.
• The annual rate of change in total deposits was 4% from 5.4% in the previous month.
• Private sector deposits decreased by 591 million euros compared to a decrease of 550 million euros in the previous month.
At the same time, business grants have increased.
Financing the domestic economy: The monthly net flow of general financing was positive by 1,188 million euros, compared with a negative net flow of 639 million euros in the previous month.
Domestic Economy Deposits in Domestic Credit Institutions: Monthly net inflow of total deposits was negative by €694m compared to negative net inflow of €872m in October.
Government deposits. General government deposits decreased by 104 million euros compared to a decrease of 322 million euros in the previous month, and the annual rate of change was -4.3% compared to -4.9% in the previous month.
Private Sector Deposits: Private sector deposits decreased by €591 million compared to a €550 million fall in the previous month, and the annual rate of change slowed to 4.5% from 5.9% in the previous month. Especially:
• Business deposits decreased by 182 million euros in November 2022 compared to a decrease of 671 million euros in the previous month, and the annual rate of change decreased to 5.4% from 11.1% in the previous month.
• Deposits from households and private non-profit organizations showed a decrease of 409 million euros compared to an increase of 121 million euros in the previous month, while the annual rate of change remained almost unchanged at 4.2% from 4.3% in the previous month. .
